The West Coast has a unique and wonderful atmosphere that you will experience when you visit the wonderful areas of the West Coast. You will be able to experience the changing winds, the salty ocean air and the refreshing rain. And in summer you can enjoy the warmth that accompanies this region…
The West Coast also boasts a wonderful array of bird life – enjoy watching the flamingos that colour the sky with pink and the white-breasted gulls that fly high above the gannets with their distinct yellow-painted faces.
This area is a cultural brio of museums, monuments, mission statements and hauntingly beautiful coastal wild flower reserves – which are all found across the many green hills in this region. Within the first 2 months of the spring rain – wild flowers explode and take over the landscape of this regions… creating a beautiful viewing pleasure.
You can also experience plump mussels from the bay as well as oysters, calamari, crayfish and abalone in season… or line-fish from the cold Benguela current. All of these are best enjoyed at a sunset fish-braai while enjoying some good wine.
