Houtkapperspoort's 26 charming and elegant self contained cottages and suites are set in beautifully landscaped, park-like grounds on the back slopes of Table Mountain and Constantia Nek about 18 minutes (18km) from the centre of Cape Town.  It is an oak-lined drive of about 7 minutes to the glistening white sand beaches of Hout Bay or the restaurants and swish shopping malls of the Southern Suburbs.  Constantia and its vineyards are adjacent to the property on the east and the Cape Peninsula National Park with all its wonderful hiking trails is directly on our northern boundary.

Houtkapperspoort is the 2003, 2004 and 2005 winner of the industry benchmark AA Travel Guides Accommodation Awards in the self catering resort category, and has been in the Hall of Fame in 2006 and 2007.

The cottages are graded from four to five stars (highest grading possible) by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa,  yet the tariff offers remarkable value for money and exceptional exclusivity (book very early for peak season!).

The units range in size from one to four bedrooms. They are serviced daily and are fully equipped for short or long stays, business or leisure. The one and two bedroom cottages are single or double storey and have either one or two bathrooms per unit. The three bedroom cottages have two or three bathrooms and all four bedrooms in the manor house are en-suite. The cottages are tastefully furnished with either edge-to-edge carpting or tiles, and each has a TV with DSTV, PBX telephone, WiFi connection, safe, fridge, cooking utensils, crockery, glassware, cutlery, bed linen and towels. Beach towels are available at the ofice. Cooking facilities include a microwave oven and three or four plate electric stove with oven or gas stove top and electrical oven. Most cottages have airconditioning for summer and some have fireplaces, under-floor heating or under-carpet heating for winter. Each cottage has it's own braai. Facilities include a swimming pool, children's play area and a standard tennis court. Houtkapperspoort borders the Cecilia State Forest which offers a vast network of walks and jogging paths through to Kistenbosch Gardens and Newlands Forest, stretching to the top of Table Mountain and Cape Town itself.  The resort has a liquor licence, token operated laundry/laundry service and 24-hour security patrol.
